lyrics

Caught in a snare
And hung on display.
Begging an audience
Too tired to listen.

If nobody moves,
It’s no one’s mistake.
But at the end of the rope,
There are no other options.

So bide up some time
And Tear at the twine.
Gnaw at the flesh of the hand
That once held you.

When caught in a corner
And causing disorder,
It comes off impulsive and violent.

Locked up your limbs
And caught out your tongue.
Tossed in a river
To see if you’ll float.

When all who you’ve loved
Have hedged all their bets,
Your heart becomes heavy.
Start to think that you won't.

If they ever loved you,
Or someone above you,
It’s run on a rail
Out of sight, Out of town.

If nobody moves,
It’s no one’s mistake except
You and your friends
In your silt bed.

So tell me yet again
About the monster
That you think I am.

Your ever-present shadow:
Mirroring your movements.
Spitting up blood
Just to spite you.

And how much harder
Should I beg?
For forgiveness for things
I’d never do.

You whisper hateful things
But scream that you love me
While all that we’ve had’s
Left to burn at the stake.
